Guidance
Welcome to the North Stanly High School Guidance Department. As a department we seek to enhance the
personal
,
social
, and
academic
well-being of all students. If you need help in any one of these areas, please stop by and ask to speak to your counselor.
If you prefer to speak about a personal issue with EITHER Mr. Laucher or Mrs. Dombrowski, that is perfectly OK! We want you to feel comfortable with whomever you wish to speak; we want to help.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Our counselors are bound by ethical codes to uphold your confidentiality. That means, that what we talk about in the context of a counseling conversation is kept confidential. That means we don't share what you say with anyone: other teachers, administrators, parents, or students. THERE ARE THREE EXCEPTIONS or "limits" to that confidentiality:
Any form of child or elder abuse (neglect, physical, and/or sexual)
Danger to yourself (suicidal thoughts, plans, or actions)
Danger to others (threats of harming another person)
